Samir was born in Sudan to Christian parents who moved there from Egypt on a mission to plant churches. From an early age, as a believer of Jesus Christ, he has enjoyed serving in various ways to advance the gospel. More recently, he served in a number of leadership roles at different churches and Christian organisations. Samir is married to Lucy, and together they have two children and five grandchildren.
